My wonderful husband was born on Valentines Day. Every year he spends money on me for Valentines Day and doesn't leave much spending money for me to get him a birthday present, or we spend it on Nathanael, whose birthday is the 18th. So, in celebration of our love and marriage of fourteen and a half years, and for his birthday, I made him a photo story. I included memories of how we met up to the present. I suppose it won't mean much to others, but it came out really good, so I couldn't resist putting it here. He is the best husband and Papa that the sweet Lord ever made! And he is all mine! =) I have, indeed, been richly blessed!
All my love, Sweetie!

World Series
Waiting...... Yeah, Red Sox!
Several elbows to the face later.
We took a half day off school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and went down to Orono to see the World Series Trophy won by the Red Sox. The University of Maine had it for just a couple of hours. We stood in line for an hour and then had our picture taken. Getting a good picture was like trying to buy a Cabbage Patch Doll in the eighties! Holy elbows, Batman!

Humdrum
Terry has been working, working, working. So things are kind of humdrum around here. He got into a fender bender right before Christmas, so we only have one vehicle. So I just don't get out much. Unless I'm up in time to drive him to work. Right.
Here's an update, such as it is. We joined Facebook and found a whole bunch of old friends that we had lost contact with. Hooray! Terry was called to the be with a family whose loved one was passing away. Always difficult, but a very good way to help and witness. We're having a heat wave. 48 degrees! Everything is melting. Youth groups, church, church cleaning(it's our month), home school, music lessons. We're never really bored, but it is all the same old, same old.
Except for my Dad undergoing treatment for MDS. Yuck! He has to travel to Bangor every day this week. We thank the Lord that Dad can get a ride with the Lynx, a transport service provided for low income people. Please pray for my Mom and Dad! God is in control!!!
Anyway, here's a picture of our poor car. Terry's "driving in the snow" privileges have been revoked! Just kidding, Sweetie!

Girlie Girl Day
Yesterday ,I went and got a haircut, finally, after putting it off for way to long. My hairdresser actually tried to scold me. " You know, Jen, when you have a short haircut you really need to come in ,like, once a month or it won't cooperate when you finally do get it cut." Yes, I realize that, but there is always something else that seems more important. "Well, you should do things for yourself sometimes." Yes, true, but I have three kids. "OOOOHH!"
'Nough said!
Anyway, when I got home, Mikayla said, "Mama, I've wanted my hair cut for months now." Who knew? So I made another appointment and back we went to the same shop. The huge grin and sparlking brown eyes were worth the fifteen bucks and the strange looks for being back again the same day! Back home from that little jaunt and Lanie was crying. "What's wrong, Honey?" "Mama, I need a haircut, tooooo!" I looked at my Hubby and he said that she would have to wait until next payday. I said something like good because I can't imagine the looks for coming back a third time in one day. More tears from big brown eyes pushed me over the top. So, I gathered up my courage, went and bought some scissors, and cut it myself. Now I have always been in awe of mothers who dared to cut their kids hair, and I have always avoided it like the plague. Unless you count the time I sat Nathanael down and buzzed him mostly bald, or the times that I have trimmed bangs. Not the same! It took hours of going around and around trying to get it even. I would think that it was just about done only to find that one side was longer than the other. So around I would have to go again. But the finished product looks pretty good. I cringe at the thought of any hairdresser taking a good look, though.
Last night while spending some quiet time with the kids before bed, Lanie said, "Today was kind of a girlie girl day, wasn't it ,Mama?" I said yes. Then she sighed this gigantic sigh and said "Poor Nathanael, He didn't get to have his hair cut." I told her that boys don't usually care about things like that, plus the fact that he got to target practice with Papa, and she was fine. Then today while I was posting this, Nathanael was looking over my shoulder and said with a knowing smirk and bit of eye rolling, " It really is ok, Mom, I know you women need your girlie times." OH, Brother !
Well, I have this really cute video of the girls showing off their new hairdos, but I can't seem to get it uploaded. I'll try again later.

See What You're Missing?
The ice off the eaves reaches the snow on the ground!A path for the mailman out front.
Check out the snowbank after we got plowed out!
Is it really still snowing!!?
Terry had to shovel the dooryard enough to move the van so we could be plowed out.
I just thought that you guys living in California and South Carolina would like to see just what you're missing out on. (: Actually, now that I think about it, Kodiak probably doesn't get this much snow either. Neither does Kentucky and southern Michigan. Mount Jefferson, here we come! Terry shoveled for two hours on Wednesday before we were able to move our van. You can see how high our snow banks are around here. The kids have quit calling them snowbanks and have dubbed them snow mountains.
