On Being Spirited Away

Is there anything better than being spirited away for a couple of days by your sweetheart? He didn't tell me what he was planning for Valentines day, so I was as surprised as everyone else when he announced on Sunday that there would be a pulpit supply for the next Sunday evening because he was taking his wife away for a couple of days. He wouldn't tell me all week long, so it was sort of agonizing for me. In a good way. Anyway, he found a great deal at the Lucerne Inn. We had a beautiful room overlooking the lake, and a cozy fireplace. Two sumptuous dinners were included, and he had a gorgeous bouquet delivered and waiting for me in the room. I must say that I was indeed impressed! ( maybe that's not quite the word for it, but...{;

Happy Valentines/Birthday

February 14th is my sweet husband's birthday. It has always been hard to celebrate Valentines Day for us. This year Terry got hockey tickets for himself and Nathanael, whose birthday is the 18th. Although that makes a great birthday gift for both of them, it sure doesn't do much for the more romantic holiday. So, this year Terry says that he is going to celebrate Valentines on a different date and go all out. I guess I'll have to wait and see and get back to you on that. In the mean time, I posted some pictures of our wedding and added music to the play list. There is significance to the first four pieces of music. Want to guess what the significance of each piece may be? Go ahead! Or just enjoy the music and slide show...The beginning of something so beautiful!
My Husband and I bought and watched the movie Fireproof last night. It was so surprisingly good that we would recommend it to all our married friends, and those considering marriage. It includes Scripture! Used in proper context! We were surprised. One character that is playing the Christian even alludes to our favorite verse when counseling. He says that you can't trust your heart because the heart can be deceived, alluding to the verse, " The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it." Also, the father in the movie states that love is not a feeling, but a decision. Never have we heard that in a movie! Go. Run. Buy. Stock up on Kleenex. Watch with your spouse or intended! What a good Valentines gift to give! Just a suggestion.

Morning Quiet Time...Psalm 139:1-14

O Lord, Thou hast searched me, and known me.
Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandeth my thoughts from afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
Whither shall I go from Thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, thy right hand shall hold me.
...thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
