Homeward Bound

Our motor home was great to travel in. You can see how contented the kids are. It's a long trip from MI to ME. Especially New York! Terry said, "Great picture of my bald spot. Thanks alot!" snicker!!!!

Niagra in November! BBRRRRR! and the Aquarium

Aren't I sooo cute!
I always wondered how I"d look as a penguin.
Shark tank! Cool!

Niagra Falls in November is very cold, but since we don't get out of New England much we decided to take the time to show the kids one of the seven wonders of the world. BBBRRRR! There was so much spray from the falls that the picture came out all white in the background. One good thing about it, it was free and there were no crowds. You can call us crazy, it's O.K. We get that alot. The wind was whipping us around in the motor home, and it started to snow, so we found a motel and stayed the night in Niagra Falls. We also went to a small aquarium there.

First Baptist Church of Weston, MI

Terry was guest speaker at his folks church the Sunday that we were there. Here he is wired for sound. The other picture is their choir practice for Christmas. Dad U. is in the back. The people there are so nice! We had a good time getting to know some of them. It is a little church, but they have some talented folks. Pray for them as they look for a pastor.

One Foot in MI, One in OH

The part of MI that Tracy lives in is very nice. The town of Morenci is small town America for sure. Nearby are lots of beautiful, large farms. Ohio is only a couple blocks from her house, so the kids wanted to stand with one foot in Michigan and one in Ohio. So they did. The land seems very flat after living in Maine. We drove past huge corn fields. The corn had been harvested and the winter wheat had been planted. The barns were huge! They weren't connected to the house by a small shed like the New England barns are, but were set away from the house. Very beautiful scenery!

Did you say Castle?

Ever had White Castle burgers? I didn't really think they were that great, but Terry insisted that the kids needed the experience of these "Gut Bombs". He told us that as we finished each burger, we were supposed to build the boxes. So build we did. Here's our Castle.

Henry Ford Museum

What do our kids like to do for fun on a trip? Find a museum, of course. Any museum, with lots of things to read and learn about. Grandpapa took us up to the Henry Ford museum. That was fun, fun, fun! We saw a Cole's truck in the museum. Strange, but cool. We also saw presidential cars, the wiener mobile, lots of trains, the Stanly Steamer, and even a car that Grandpapa helped build when he worked for GM. The kids gave me a list of loads of other things that they saw, but ..... Lanie and Papa were wing walkers. Mac flew the Red Baron. And Nate folded and flew paper airplanes. What a great museum!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving with the Michigan relatives. The women cooked all day, and the guys watched football. Go figure! Lions lost. Go figure! Here's some pictures of the cousins, including Nathan who we finally met for the first time. Handsome, isn't he?!! Lanie played with him alot, and read to him.

The Train

We're back in the great state of Maine. Michigan was wonderful, and the area beautiful, but we are glad to be home. We had a great time with Terry's sister ,Tracy and her family ,along with his folks. The train was interesting to say the least. Mostly, it was a very good trip, and I would do it again rather than fly. It's so much easier! If we do it again, we will get berths, or stay over somewhere rather than go straight through, though. Sleeping on the train in coach was difficult, to say the least.

MacTube maple leaf rag

Preacher's Kid Plays Ragtime

Here's Mikayla playing the first page of "Maple Leaf Rag" without the music! There are two more pages left to memorize! YIKES! I don't know how she does it. You can see how early it is getting dark here in Maine. It was only about four in the afternoon when I took this video. The sun has set by five.

Youth Service Day

We have such a goofy youth group, but we have lots of fun! After working all morning, we had them all up to our house for pizza, games, and fun.

Here's our youth group during youth service day. A day when the youth have the opportunity to do jobs for some of our older church members. We raked leaves and stacked wood .
What cute girls!

FUN FUN FUN! Rake rake rake!

Apples to Apples game. Very Fun!

New Little One

Here's the newest addition to the Campbell Clan, Colin Carey Campbell.
This is his Great Uncle Bill Hatfield holding him. This picture is more recent than the one below.

Here's Colin at the hospital being held by his Papa and big brother Ian. I wish it had been me behind the camera so I could see them all, but Jon sent this picture e-mail style.

Wednesday at home.

Terry: It's Wednesday, so I get to be home today. The sun finally broke through, and it looks like it is going to be a nice day today.
I had chapel at the little Christian school here in Lincoln. We had a good time, and the kids seemed to really enjoy the snake story. I am an emergency fill-in for the school, so I only go a couple of times a year.
We have our mid-week service tonight. We are almost done going through the book of Revelation. It has been a good study, but it has taken forever to get through it. We have made it to chapter 19, and I am going to try to speed things up a little bit.
We got re-connected to some of old friends in the last couple of weeks. It has been great to find out how they are doing. Some day we would love to go visit some of them, but they moved out to California of all places.
I'm so excited about our vacation trip to Michigan. I was able to finalize all of the men who will fill the pulpit for me. I got the last confirmation last night. What a relief, especially since I had already purchased the tickets!
Anyway, the work day awaits!

Our Famous Uncle

We let the kids stay up on Saturday night to watch their Uncle Jon on America's Most Wanted. They were jumping up and down when he came on, yelling "There he is, there he is! That's Uncle Jon! He's famous! He's on T.V.! Oh, I can't believe he's on AMW!" Etc.Etc. Then they calmed down and were glued to the t.v. Of course, we were all very pleased and proud! Go, Uncle Jon! Don't forget to catch Jon on 48 Hours Mystery coming up on the 17th.

Michigan or Bust!

It's official! We are headed to Michigan the 17th of this month. The tickets are paid for! The motor home awaits. We are planning to spend Thanksgiving with Tracy and her family, and Terry's folks. Terry will fill the pulpit at the Upcotts church once, too, and we are planning on visiting the new Answers in Genesis Creation Museum in Cincinnati. Tracy has neighbors that go to Florida during the winter, and we are going to stay in their house. How cool is that?!!!! I guess it's kinda cold for staying in the camper. We are going to take the train into Detroit and then drive the motor home back. Much cheaper. This is the first trip that we have made to see family in years. We made a trip to Michigan for Terry ordination back in 1998. Then we went to South Carolina to see Jon, Lisa, and then three week old Ian in 2003. We're very excited to get to go further than New Hampshire for a trip! Our church family has made this possible by collecting a monetary gift for Pastor Appreciation month. They specifically wanted us to be able to go see Terry's family and get the motor home that they gave us. We have no idea if we'll be able to take the motor home anywhere once we get it home, because of gas prices. We'll camp in the back yard. LOL!

Here's some old picts that have sat in a file long enough. It's time to share them!

Nathanael was baptised last year. He was still afraid of putting his face under the water, so we tried to talk him into waiting. He insisted that he should get baptized because that was the first act of obedience for a Christian. How could we argue with that?!!!! He went through baptismal classes with his dad, and did well. We were sure that he understood, but I was sure that he was going to freak when it came time to go under. He let his friend Jim go first and then went right in, but when Terry asked if he was saved he squeaked out "umm, ahhh, nnnooooo". Terry bent down and whispered to him, but I could hear because I was sitting in the front pew. Terry asked if he was scared. A nod, tears flowing. Terry asked if he wanted to wait. A shake, with more tears. Mama's tears are flowing freely by this time, too. Terry asked if he should ask the question again and Nate nodded. To make a long story short, he was baptised. He does know that he is saved, by the by, but he was soooo scared. When he came up out of the water, he was grinning. I snapped a picture, but missed the grin. Mostly because I couldn't see well for all the water in my own eyes.

Mikayla grew her hair out to donate to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for girls going through chemotherapy.

Aunt Lin and Uncle Chris sent the kids these cool t-shirts and socks from Alaska. Thumbs Up!

Our kids raised money for cheer packages for wounded soldiers in Germany. A project we did in Bible School last summer. They sold lemonade on the front lawn. Aren't they cute!!

Here's Lanie-Lou with Amber Rose, her butterfly project last year.
